Great Britain is an island regrouping the following countries : England, Scotland and Wales.
United Kingdom is a group of 4 countries making a single country. It regroups the following : England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Hence, United Kingdom is composed of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and that explains the real name of United Kingdom : United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
