It seems like you already asked this question? Just like my colleague answered, to solve this problem without using a trial and error method, you would have to use algebra:

x+y)+(x−y)=433+392𝑥=472

𝑥=472/2

𝑥=236

And then we would have to integrate that number in the first equation:

236+

y=433𝑦=433−236

y=197Just like my colleague said, keep in mind that this is a problem that couldn't be solved with this method as per the knowledge you learn in sixth grade!
