Good evening mangousteagile51!
Until the 1860s, the forestry industry in Canada was mainly devoted to shipbuilding.
From the 1860s, sawn timber dominated the forestry industry. The trees were transported on the rivers to the lumber camps thanks to the log drive. The logs were later made into planks for construction purposes. This wood was widely exported to the United States to meet the demand created by the phenomenon of urbanization.
