    The cosine and sine functions are both periodic functions.

    In the points of the unit circle, cosine is defined by the x-coordinates, while sine is by the y.

    Notice that the basic cosine function is obtained by a horizontal shift of π/2 units with respect to the basic sine function.

    The tangent function is equivalent to sin(θ)/cos(θ).
