    Hi,

Thank you for using the services of the Help Zone! :)

There are two types of volcanic eruptions :

    • Effusive eruptions are relatively calm eruptions. They do not produce an explosion but the lava flows are very abundant. Volcanoes that have effusive eruptions are called red volcanoes. Volcanoes of Hawaii, Piton de la Fournaise and Etna are examples.
    • The explosive eruptions are much more spectacular. They are very dangerous because they are unpredictable. These eruptions do not form a lava flow. On the other hand, they are accompanied by strong explosions which produce a large quantity of ash. Volcanoes of this type are called gray volcanoes. Pinatubo, Krakatoa, Mayon and Merapi are examples.
