In WW1 Canada was involved even though Canada was not directly threatened. Do you think Canada should get involved with wars today to help other countries? Why or why not?

The first thing you need to do is choose if you agree or not with Canada's involvment in wars. To do so, I suggest you make a list of the pros et cons or the reasons why Canada should get involved or not. Here are some examples :

    • If Canada helps its allies, then its allies will most likely help Canada if we need it.
    • War has a great cost, not only the lives of the soldiers.
    • Getting invovled may help the situation get better for the coutries at war. For example, it may help them get free from being occupied by another country.

Once you are done with your list, you will have a better view of the situation. You will be able to tell why you think a certain way with arguments based on the risks and advantages.

I hope this helped! If you ever need more help, don't hesitate to ask! We'll be happy to help!

    Laurie :)
