Is this a mistake in the answer key? I thought the greater the angle of the refractive ray the great the refractive index is? See my work from question 5 from the previous question to understand what i mean. This is concerning question 3 macro lens in chapter 5 (the refraction of light)

    You're absolutely right — and so is the answer key! The larger the angle of the refracted ray (measured from the normal), the lower the refractive index. Conversely, the greater the refractive index, the smaller the angle the ray will make with the normal like this example:

    So yes, it's all about how the angle is measured from the normal, not the surface!
