The holidays are nearly here! To give you a head start on your planning and get you in the holiday spirit, we have put together a list of five festive educational activity ideas. So, grab your favourite hot beverage (if you love hot chocolate, we have the best recipe!) and read on to learn how to bring some Christmas magic to your classroom!

Play Christmas bingo

The holiday season is the perfect excuse to have some fun! Plus, play is proven to help students learn. Our printable bingo game is an entertaining way to review Christmas-themed vocabulary words with your students. Simply download and print the cards, and then pass them out to your students!

Read seasonal books

Immersing yourself in a good book can make the countdown to Christmas go by just a little faster. Winter and the magic of the holiday season have inspired countless authors throughout history. Why not take this opportunity to cultivate a love of reading in your students with our recommended holiday-themed books and comics?

Make up a Christmas story

A great way to get your students to practice their writing skills is to use this handy tool that guides them step-by-step through writing their own Christmas story. With linking words already provided and pictograms that evoke winter festivities, the possibilities are endless. Once they have finished writing, your students can have fun sharing their stories with one another.

Write letters to Santa Claus

What would Christmas be without Santa? One of the biggest holiday traditions is writing a letter to Santa Claus. This is a great opportunity for students to learn how to structure a letter and to practice self-reflection by thinking about all the good things they did this year.
