Alloprof’s best tools to help elementary students prepare for exams

Article

Exam season is just around the corner, and this time of year can be a major source of stress for both students and teachers. For elementary school students, exams can be particularly scary, especially if this is their first experience with academic assessments. In fact, don’t be surprised if one of your students comes to you with a million questions and concerns. Fortunately, Alloprof is here to support you during this trying time, and we have a myriad of tools that you can recommend to your class.

Mathematics

Math exams can be very challenging. To give your students a helping hand, our team has developed a host of math videos. They can be viewed on our website and YouTube channel. These videos are ideal for reviewing many of the concepts on the curriculum. Here are a few videos your students are sure to enjoy:

If your students  need clear explanations and examples, have them check out our concept sheets! The following examples are sure to come in handy:

And finally, the resource students tend to like best—our games! Two math games are especially popular in elementary school. Consider recommending them to your students and their parents, or play them in class! Note that both are currently available in French only.

French

Many English-speaking students are attending French schools. As such, they will have to take both the Grade 4 and Grade 6 French ministry exams. One of the trickiest aspects when it comes to French exams is that the concepts students need to learn are so similar, which makes them difficult to study. This is one of the reasons why our concept videos are so popular: they explain each concept individually while also specifying how they relate to other concepts!

Here are some of the most popular concepts sheets in French:

Just like for math, we have several games that allow students to practise their French skills:

General tips

You know this better than anyone: it takes more than just knowing your stuff to pass an exam. Several other essential aspects are required, including organization, time management, and commitment.

Indeed, it’s important to focus on developing an adequate study method. To address this need, don’t forget to tell your students’ parents about our Motivational Timer. This simple application helps students better organize their study time and gives them fun little rewards for their successes.

Ask a teacher

Finally, if they’re ever stuck, you can always remind your students and their parents that they can ask questions for free in our Help Zone, 7 days a week. They can also contact our teachers by phone, text message, or chat from Monday to Thursday, between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
