Back-to-School Bingo | Icebreaker Activity

Article

Our Back-to-School Bingo is the perfect activity to break the ice with your elementary school students. They’ll have fun getting to know each other as they quiz their classmates on their tastes, interests, and favourite pastimes.

Details of the Activity

Here are the suggested steps for completing the activity.

1) Print out one bingo card per student.

2) Hand out one card to each student.

3) Have them go around the classroom and ask each other questions to complete their cards.

4) End the game once a student has filled out all the squares on their card.

5) Go over the answers as a class so you can also get to know your students and introduce yourself.

You can tailor the activity to suit your needs. Here are some suggestions:

  • Have students complete the entire bingo card or any vertical, horizontal, or diagonal line.
  • Let students use a classmate’s name only once, only twice, or as many times as they wish to fill in the squares when they find a match.
  • If there are more squares than students, let them fill in the extras using their own name or yours before they start the activity.
