In this learning and evaluation situation, students will compare different types of light bulbs to determine which is the most efficient. In the process, they will learn about the relationship between power and electrical energy, as well as energy efficiency.

  • Describing qualitatively the relationship between the power of an electrical
    appliance, the electrical energy it consumes, and the amount of time it is in

    the power of an electrical appliance, and the amount of time it is in operation

  • Defining the energy efficiency of a device or system as the proportion of energy
    consumed that is transformed into effective work

  • Explaining how to improve the energy efficiency of an electrical appliance
