    The fight against racism in the United States and in Africa paid off! In 1965, the United States passed the Voting Rights Act which gave black Americans the right to vote.

    In Africa, the gains were made a few years later. Indeed, it was in 1991 that the last apartheid laws were abolished in South Africa.
