    Thank you for your question. 

    It was in 1924 that the Quebec state officially recognized unions, although they had been legal since 1884 in France, which was experiencing a mass union movement.

    In addition, in 1950 a law for a guaranteed minimum wage was introduced in France and in 1975, in Quebec, the concept of equal pay for equivalent work was born in the Charter of human rights and freedoms. However, this subject is still relevant today, as a lot of wage discrimination still exists, especially for jobs titles held by women.
