The light year (ly) is the unit of measurement corresponding to the distance that light travels in a vacuum in a year, or 9 460 billion kilometres or 63 240 au.
You can always use cross product (cross multiplication) to calcute the value. You need first to be careful about de significant figures. You can use more for the number of kilometers in a light year. You can also use the scientific notation to help you with calculations since it seems to be the problem.
$$ 9,46\times10^{12}=9'460'000'000'000 $$
If you use this notation, you can calculate the values and the exponent separatly.
