Hello ! :) Glad to be of help !

The ancestral land right is a term used in the Aboriginal rights. It aknowledges that the land originally belonged to Aboriginal and therefore allows them access to it for hunting, fishing, etc.

The territories are legislated by laws such as the Constitution. Their definition varies depending of new laws. Historically, that definition was not always recognized/was altered to benefit colonization activities.

To know more about ancestral rights, take a look at these articles ! https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/indigenous-territory

    https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/const/page-13.html

If you still have questions, don't hesitate to send us a picture of the definitions from your textbook ! We will try our best to make everything clearer for you :)
