    Good morning QuietDragon2728! :)

Humanism is a current of thought that appears in the 15th century in Europe. It is a new vision of Man where God is no longer at the center of everything. It is now the human being who becomes the central focus.

Therefore, changes appeared in several areas. First, scientists of the time placed the human at the center of their research and men started dissecting the human body in order to improve knowledge about it.

Secondly, art was also strongly influenced by humanist ideas. The human subject of the canvas was then placed in the center and the human being painted realistically. For example, the artists tried to do justice to the proportions, the symmetry as well as the harmony of the shapes of the subject.

At last, humanists questioned the power of the Church. Several criticisms were made, such as the sale of indulgence in order to gain access to the gates of paradise.

If you'd like to know more about other consequences, I invite you to consult our fact sheet on the subject.

Let us know if we can help you with anything else!:)
