Hello! Is the movement of a hand on a clock helical or a rotation? I don’t understand these two movements, can I have examples of the 2 please?
Thank you!

Hello!
In a clock, the hand makes a circular motion around an axis, but the hand does not move along a fixed axis, as a helical motion does. It then performs a rotational movement.
As stated previously, an object makes a rotational movement if it performs a circular movement around an axis. A swing makes a rotational movement, since it rotates around its axis, the part that supports its strings.
Helical motion moves both along and around an axis. A corkscrew is a good example: when the metal spiral enters the cork stopper, it makes both a rotational movement and a translational movement while sinking into the cork!
Hope this helps your understanding!
