Hello,

What was the use of the ancient Roman Empire to have a huge territory at its peak. What if the Romans built monuments and invested only in Rome?

    Good morning,

Thank you for your question! :)

During the 2nd century, both the Roman Empire and its territory were at their peak. You should know that the Romans forced foreign civilizations to adopt Roman customs. From then on, the cities that were conquered by Rome had to adopt their architecture, their language, their currency, their law and much more.

Because Rome was then still a very small city and not a great Empire, territorial expansion was desired for commercial purposes.

Hope this helps, let us know if we can do anything else for you! :)
