Question de l’élève

Secondaire 2 • 2a

Pierre works as a foreman in a bottling factory. In this factory, there are two production lines.

The first fills one-litre bottles that are sold for $1.25, and the second chain fills half-litre bottles that are worth $0.75.

The two chains together produce 420 bottles per hour.

If we want to generate an income of $500 per hour for the factory, how many bottles must each of the chains produce?

    Hi PapillonAdorable9813,

    Thank for using our service!

You have to do an equation system. If we say that the first line is x, the second will be 420-x, because the two of them produce 420 bottles per day. After that, we have to do an equation with all that and the money.

    1,25x+ 0,75(420-x)=500.

If you resolve this, you'll have the number of bottles for each line.

    Hope this help!

    Lea-Kim
