There, their, they’re . . . Homophones are words that are pronounced the same, but have different spellings and meanings. Learning to spell them can therefore be a challenge for children. It is important to use homophones in sentences that enable children to recognize them by context as they learn to distinguish between them.

This fun, printable tool combining art and spelling is a perfect activity to help your child spot some of the most common homophones. To colour in the correct homophone, your child will have to reflect on which word makes sense in the sentence. Once the mandalas are coloured in, you can use them to brighten up a corner of your home.
