Do your students tend to ask for help as soon as they run into issues, instead of trying to figure things out themselves first? Print out this poster and display it in your classroom to help your students get in the habit of using problem-solving strategies before asking for help.

As a teacher, you encounter a wide range of situations and students with many different needs in the course of your work. Here are some other tools you may find useful:
 

  • The How to Ask for Help poster shows examples of ways students can ask for help, beyond “I don’t understand!” or “I’m stuck!”
  • The I’m Done! poster shows a list of things your students should check before turning in their work. For example, making sure their name is clearly written at the top of the page.
