    Thank you very much for your question!

    The adoption of the Statute of Westminster in 1931 allowed the United Kingdom to recognize Canada as an independent country in its own right, with no obligation to the British Crown. This gave Canada both control over its internal and external politics. From now on, Canada is no longer required to support the metropolis in all its battles.
