    Thanks for your question!

Note the following characteristics in the three images:

    1. the shape of the substance
    2. the volume occupied by the substance
    3. the space between the particles

In fact, these are the characteristics that describe and differentiate the different states of matter.

Gases have an undefined shape, an undefined volume, and a lot of space between particles. This is therefore the first image.

Liquids have an indefinite shape, a defined volume, and little space between particles. This is therefore the second image.

Solids have a defined shape, a defined volume, and little space between particles. This is therefore the third image.

In short, it is only a question of examining the images in the light of the different properties of matter.

Do not hesitate if you have other questions!
