    Hi Pieuvremagique,

Sedentarization, in short, is the action of passing from the nomadic state (people who move constantly) to the sedentary state (staying in a fixed place).

What often leads to sedentarization is the change in lifestyle and livelihood activities. When people practice hunting, they need to move often since after a while, there are no more animals to hunt on a territory. On the other hand, when the inhabitants start animal husbandry as well as doing agriculture, they no longer need to move. Their homes then become permanent.

If you want to know more on the subject, I suggest you look at our sheet on sedentarization. You will have access to a lot of information and an exercise to verify your understanding.
