Good evening,
The term civilization designates all of the social, religious, intellectual, artistic, scientific and technical phenomena of a society.
The first civilizations appeared in the Fertile Crescent region around 3500 BC. The Mesopotamian civilization includes Sumerians, Akkadians, Babylonians and Assyrians. The advent of this civilization marks the end of the prehistoric period.
The region of the Fertile Crescent was favorable to the development of civilizations since it is made up of two important rivers; the Tiber and the Euphrates. The land was very fertile there thanks to the presence of silt and to the proximity of the water that allowed the construction of canals. These two factors allowed the increase of agricultural production and in the same way, the growth of the population in the region.
