    Good evening! :)

In Athens, from birth until the age of seven, the education of boys and girls is given by the mother.

From the age of seven to 18, boys go to school and at the gymnasium. In school, they learn the art of effective and persuasive speaking or writing (rhetoric), philosophy and grammar. When they go to the gymnasium, they prepare for their military training by practicing several sports such as javelin throwing and boxing. When they reach the age of 18, they begin their military service which aims to make them good citizens.

Since women had no functions in society, their education was based on their role as wives and mothers. They also learned to keep the house well.

    Hope that answers your question!
