    Good evening!

I will try to briefly explain to you what this feminism was about.

Faced with many injustices of the political system in the 18th and 19th centuries, a lot of women began to regroup in order to assert their discontent.

However, at the start of the 20th century, women were still not equal to men. They were considered inferior to men and they still were under the responsibility and authority of their husband and/or father. Women still cannot vote nor own a property at that time.

Women will then begin to claim their right to vote by participating in numerous demonstrations in Europe and then in North America.

Finally, around 1918, women began to make some gains; they finally obtained the right to vote in Canada. In 1948, they were recognized for the first time legally as entirely independent, in Quebec.

Hope that answers your question! :)
