    Hello!

In fact, after the fall of Constantinople in 1453, it was no longer possible to travel to India by this route. The rich countries, in search of spices and precious metals, wanted to continue trade with India in order to buy the spices there.

Therefore they financed many trips to find a new route to get there.

This funding allowed many advances in navigation (more resistant boats, better mapping methods, etc.). Several expeditions were then launched to discover new lands, new cultures and new resources.

    Hope that answers your question!
