    Good evening!

Following the British victory in the Seven Years' War, the signing of the Treaty of Paris gave Great Britain the territory of New France.

The purpose of the Royal Proclamation of 1763 is to specify the various administrative, political, territorial and legal changes that will be applied in the colony. These changes also aim to assimilate the Francophone population.

At the territorial level, the Royal Proclamation makes New France the Province of Quebec. Its territory is now reduced to the valley of the St. Lawrence. The Great Lakes region and the Ohio Valley are reserved for the Natives.
