The war of Conquest began in 1754 and ended in 1760. This conflict opposed France to Great Britain and, as its name suggests, this conflict was resolved with the conquest of New France by the British.
This war began with several disagreements as to who should take control of the territory of the Ohio Valley. This territory was important for the control of the fur trade.
Finally, as the colony of New France represents an immense territory, it was difficult to defend it all. At the same time, France retained the majority of its forces in Europe since previous conflicts had weakened it. During this time, the British Crown invested heavily in military force on North American soil in order to take possession of New France and its many resources. The country managed to take control of it during the Battle of the Plains of Abraham in 1759.
