      Good evening mangousteagile51!

      Nationalism designates a strong national identification. We promote and defend the nation we identify with.

      Survival nationalism is used when a nation is at risk of extinction. It was the case with the French Canadians. The Catholic religion, French language and culture were in peril. French Canadians will then promote their culture in order to prevent it from becoming extinct.
