    Good evening!

In Quebec, several cities were created thanks to the exploitation of resources. Sometimes these cities have only one sector of activity and these cities are called “mono-industrial”.

Although these cities allow several people to have a job, there are also several risks associated with it. Indeed, cities that depend on a single sector of economic activity will be very vulnerable to economic fluctuations and business decisions. For example, if the company decided to close its doors, there would be a rapid devitalization of this same single-industrial city. This is, among other things, what happened to the town of Gagnon in Quebec.

To find out about other issues related to cities in the regions, I invite you to consult our sheet on the subject.
