    Good evening!

The Bélanger-Campeau Commission was set up by Robert Bourassa and Jacques Parizeau following the failure of the Meech Lake Accord in 1990. It is also known as “the Commission on the Political and Constitutional Future of Quebec ". It seeks to plan the political and constitutional future of the province in the interest of Quebecers.

It comes to the following conclusion: it is necessary to redefine the constitutional political status of the province of Quebec. This explains why this commission recommends the holding of a new referendum on the sovereignty of Quebec. Another recommendation from the Bélanger-Campeau Commission is that Canada should make new constitutional offers that are more advantageous for the province.
