Student Question

Secondary I • 1yr.

Hello,

I know that I don't need to know this for school, but I was wondering if, lets say, Alex uses the pronouns they/them, would I say "Alex likes cats" or "Alex like cats", because you would say "they like cats"?,

    Hi!

If you use the name « Alex » in the sentence, you will write « likes ». No matter the gender, when it is a person's name, you will write the verb the same way. If you write « they », you will write « like ».
