The second area is a trapezoid not a triangle. We never did this other than trapezoids in this section anyways. Unless we are acting like the triangle is also inverted since it is moving in the opposite direction and we ignore what's going on below the X axis .

    Hi !

    Displacement represents the oriented straight line distance separating the points of departure and arrival.



    Your error seems to be at the first point of the negative displacement. This is the areas you used.

    However, the first movement begins at time \(t-0s\) and ends at time \(t=2s\). So the second movement can not begin at \(t=0s\). So this is the areas you should use.
