    In the first problem, you need to use the concept of multiplying a fraction by a whole number. I recommend checking out the following information sheets :


    In the second problem, you need to divide the fraction by 2 because there are two cakes. To divide fractions, you have to multiply by the reciprocal. In other words, the numerator and denominator are flipped. Here, the number 2 is equivalent to the fraction 2/1. When inverted, it becomes 1/2. Then, you need to multiply the two fractions to find the amount of flour in each cake.
