    In short, the genotype is the genetic information (DNA) and the phenotype is the final product, what you actually see.

    The genotype is the unique combinations of alleles that an organism carries in its DNA. It is the genetic makeup inherited from the parents. It remains the same throughout your life. You cannot see the genotype just by looking at someone. It is usually written with letters (BB, Bb, bb...). It is the underlying code.

    The phenotype is the observable traits, and is a result of the genotype interacting with the environment. It is the expression of the genotype. For example: eye color, hair color, hair texture... It can change over time due to environmental factors.
