I'm trying to understand the difference between URM/UARM and Projectiles. It seems as if the difference is that there is a different kind of force that is pushing the object. There was a question in UARM of a child pushing an a ball up a hill and it coming back down once hitting the garage door. It's confusing to me that this is not a projectile. I get a projectile is an example of an arrow being launched by a bow, and golf ball being hit by a golf club, a bullet being shot by a barrel, but why is this different from a child pushing a ball up a hill against the garage? Is it because UARM can be guided but not a projectile? So the child throwing the ball is considered to be guiding the object? Same situation of the pitcher throwing a baseball, the ball being hit by the batter and coming back to him.

      Hi !

      UARM is a type of movement that is accelerated. It is the motion of a moving object in a straight line with constant acceleration. A projectile is a movement that combines UARM and URM.

      The horizontal speed is constant and the vertical speed is not. This happen because of the gravitanional force. The situation of a child pushing a ball up a hill is a one dimensional situation.

      You can see up above that the movement is only in one axis. This makes it a UARM only situation
