For many years, Alloprof has been interested in how artificial intelligence can be used to support the academic success of even more young people in Quebec. To ensure that we implement our technological projects in a responsible and constructive manner, the organization has adopted a charter of ethics on artificial intelligence. The charter is largely inspired by the Montréal Declaration for a Responsible Development of Artificial Intelligence and the reflexivity grid developed by the International Observatory on the Societal Impacts of AI and Digital Technology (OBVIA) on the ethical issues of artificial intelligence systems. This charter will guide the Alloprof team in the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence in both project development and day-to-day operations.
Core principles
1. Transparency
We undertake to ensure complete transparency regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in our services. We care deeply about our users’ opinions. We strive to provide clear, accessible information on how we use AI, and we seek feedback to continually improve our services. User consent is essential, and we make sure that users can withdraw their consent at any time. All products and services produced by generative AI are clearly labelled as such, and we commit to increasing the digital literacy of all our users to help them understand and navigate generative AI systems.
2. Responsibility and human oversight
No decision is made by our AI systems without human oversight. We keep detailed logs of our AI processes for auditing purposes and to ensure accountability in the event of harm or error. We provide all parties concerned with clear, easy-to-understand explanations for the decisions made by our AI systems. We implement clear and efficient procedures to resolve any potential problems or errors related to the use of AI.
3. Privacy and data governance
Protecting our users’ privacy is our top priority. We undertake to practise ethical data collection and to use AI in a way that respects your privacy. You have complete control of your data at all times. We make sure we’re always on top of current legislation and regulations so we can adjust our AI usage framework as needed to ensure compliance.
4. Fairness and elimination of bias
We actively look for and aim to prevent AI bias, whether it comes from training data or other sources. We implement stringent procedures to ensure the quality and accuracy of the datasets on which our AI systems are trained.
5. Accessibility and inclusion
We undertake to deliver AI solutions designed to be accessible and inclusive for all our users, whatever their abilities, skills, or knowledge. Bearing in mind the context in which we use AI, we make sure we adapt to the needs of users with disabilities or limitations.
6. Security
We take all necessary measures to protect our AI systems and your data against malicious attacks or breaches.
7. Testing, validation, and continuous learning
We regularly monitor our AI systems to ensure they are working reliably and as intended. We constantly track the inputs and outputs in our AI systems and regularly update our training data and commands.
8. Research and knowledge sharing
We collaborate with the broader community on ongoing research into AI-related ethical issues and anticipate potential problems to prevent them before they arise. We commit to working closely with the scientific community, university researchers, and other educational institutions to promote solidarity in the education sector. Our aim is to share knowledge, resources, and innovations to ensure that the benefits of AI in education reach everyone. We value diversity of opinion and expertise, and we strive to create a collaborative and inclusive learning ecosystem.

9. Use of Generative AI in Our Multimedia Content
Alloprof would like to inform its users that in some cases, images have been created using generative AI with software such as Adobe Firefly or Midjourney.
Whenever possible, we use reference images and digital graphics created by Alloprof to produce AI-generated variations of them. All prompts are original and free of any terms or names of authors, artists, professionals, or celebrities associated with intellectual property protected by copyright. The aim is to generate images more quickly so we can provide students with as many tools and teaching resources as possible.
