Article

At the end of Grade 6, all students enrolled in a French school (in a Centre de service scolaire) in Quebec are evaluated in French by the Ministère de l’Éducation et de l’Enseignement supérieur.

The exam

The compulsory examination for the 2024–2025 school year is composed of two parts: a reading exam and a writing exam.

The reading exam takes place over 2 half-days:

  • Day 1: Reading the narrative text and answering questions

  • Day 2: Reading the expository text and answering questions

The writing exam takes place over 2 half-days:

  • Day 3: Writing – Planning and starting the first draft

  • Day 4: Writing – Editing, correcting, and writing the final draft
