Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada. This celebration is the occasion to show gratitude (to give thanks) for all the good things that happened during the year and to celebrate the harvest of fruits, vegetables and cereals that are finally ready to be eaten. On this occasion, many people come together as families and organize big family reunion where they share a dinner. A lot of people also take Thanksgiving as an occasion to share food and to spend time with people in need.

The United States of America also celebrate Thanksgiving in the same way, but their Thanksgiving happens on the fourth Thursday of November. The reason why Canadians and Americans don't celebrate Thanksgiving at the same time is because our harvest comes a lot earlier than in the U.S.: think about it, it's colder in Canada sooner than in the U.S.!
