    Hello, MonarqueAlpha6950!

To simplify a rational expression, look for factors common to both the numerator and the denominator.

    Rule

    1. Factor the polynomials in the numerator and the denominator.
    2. Establish the restrictions.
    3. Simplify the common factors of the two polynomials.
