It is normal to have difficulty understanding some texts. However, there are tips to improve our understanding and stay invested in the text. For example, you can ask yourself what is happening in the text. You can ask yourself questions on the relevance of the actions performed by the main character, the end that there could be, the emotions felt by the different characters in the text, etc. It allows you to develop your understanding! Also, you can react to the text: for example, if the character abandons one of his friends to go somewhere, you can ask yourself if you would have done the same thing and give your opinion.
