Good question!
A prism is a polyhedron with bases (isometric and parallel faces) and side faces (quadrilaterals).
The cube is a solid formed of 6 identical faces (squares). As for the square-based prism , it has two square bases and rectangles as side faces.
The definition of a rectangle is the following : quadrilateral with 4 square 90 degrees angles.
So, based on these definitions, the cube is considered to be a particular square-based prism!
