Hello Alloprof, I have a test coming up, and a section of it is on variables. I get very confused when it comes to independent and dependent variable. Can I have a clear explanation and some tips maybe??

Hello, RedPearl4637!

The link between a dependent variable and an independent variable is called a relationship. The relationship can be illustrated in various ways. For example, in a Cartesian plane, the independent variable is associated with the x-axis while the dependent variable is associated with the y-axis.

A tip to identify each variable is to ask yourself ''which one depends on the other?'' For example, in a situation where the pay of an employee is based on the number of hours worked, the schedule, variable x, is independent, while the salary, variable y, is dependent on it.
Because behind every accomplishment is perseverance, we are extremely proud that so many students choose to face their academic difficulties by using our resources. 😊
