    Hi barfi21!

    In French, the equivalent of a reflexive pronoun is called a «pronominal verb». A sentence containing a pronominal verb contains two consecutive pronouns of the same person. The first is the subject and the second pronoun is the one which is part of the pronominal verb and which completes it.

    The pronouns used in a pronominal verb are as follows;

    1. Je me demande or je m'entend bien

    2. Il se regarde.

    3. Nous nous aimons.

    4. Ils se sont laissés or ils s'aiment.

    In your example, the translation of « Nous nous levons à huit heures » could also be: « We get ourselves up at 8am ». But, since the example you have did not translate the sentence with a reflexive pronoun in english, i don't think you are obligated to use one in your translation.

    However, if you want to also practice your reflexive pronouns in english :

    The reflexive pronouns in english are:

    1st person singular : myself

    2nd person singular: yourself

    3rd person singular;

    Male : himself

    Female : herself

    Animal or Object: itself

    1st person plural : ourselves

    2nd person plural : yourselves

    3rd person plural :themselves

    I will share with you our sheet in french on pronominal verbs:

    And our sheet in english on Reflexive pronouns:

    I hope I have been able to help you, do not hesitate to write to us again if you have any other questions!
