    First of all, a cell is the basic unit of all living things, whether they are animals or plants.

    Here is an image of a plant cell and another of an animal cell.

    The main differences are:

    • Plant cells have a cell wall (a rigid structure outside the membrane) and chloroplasts (which allow them to make food through photosynthesis).
    • Plant cells have a large central vacuole, while animal cells have small vacuoles or none.
