Parcours Allofrançais: The Ideal Tool to Help Your Child Progress in French!

A Parcours is a sequence of explanatory videos and activities that provide your child with strategies to be more effective in their French writing. They’ll become invaluable partners in your child's learning and will enable you to support them as they improve their French and target their specific challenges in all key writing skills (spelling, conjugation, syntax, punctuation, etc.).

• Each Parcours breaks down a writing strategy into easily digestible steps (or missions) that your child can complete independently. 
• At the end of the series of missions, your child will be presented with a challenge to put their knowledge to the test. 
• Each Parcours takes about 20 to 25 minutes to complete. 

Here’s how to use Parcours:

1. Go to the Alloprof website and click on Parcours.
2. Make sure you select the correct grade level.
3. Select the tab for the skill your child wants to work on. 
4. Click on the Parcours related to the concept to be reviewed. For example, in the Classes de mots tab, choose the Orthographier les verbes « a/as » et la préposition « à » Parcours.
5. Complete a mission.
   1. Watch the explanatory video to discover strategies for successfully completing the mission.
   2. Answer the activity questions.
6. Unlock and complete the Parcours challenge. 
7. Start a new Parcours! 

Your child can click the interrogation mark at any time they feel stuck. Navigation information will pop up. They can also click the light bulb to get hints on how to answer questions.

Parcours Allofrançais are the result of the work of a multidisciplinary team committed to promoting French language learning and student success. Here are a few highlights from the Parcours development process.

• They were designed by a team of teachers, resource teachers, and other experts, in collaboration with university researchers in French didactics. 
• They were tested and approved by 30 classes and 700 students throughout the development process (and testing is still ongoing!).
• Satisfaction surveys have shown a remarkable level of appreciation from both teachers and students taking part in the tests.
• Struggling students expressed the strongest intention to use Parcours regularly to improve.
