This year, end-of-year exams will count for 65 percent of your child’s final grade. For many students, this is an additional stress factor. If your teen is stressed about exam season, help them end this difficult year on a lighter note by suggesting they take some time for themselves. Perhaps they could do one of the following:
- Take a 20-minute walk before hitting the books
- Play sports to improve concentration
- Establish a routine to avoid being overwhelmed by an increasing workload
- Learn to say “no” to avoid overloading their schedule
- Etc.
Furthermore, while your youngster may have become more organized and independent in their studies since entering high school, they still need your good advice.
