Numerical expressions are numbers separated by mathematical symbols.
Example:
4 + 5 = 9 is a numerical expression.
Numerical expressions are equivalent when they have the same value.
The equals sign (=) means that the expressions are equal or equivalent.
The additions 7 + 3 and 4 + 6 are equivalent since they equal the same amount.

The expressions 7 + 5 and 15 - 3 both have a value of 12. Thus, they are equivalent expressions.
